Fallen cable line blocks Detroit home’s garage for days

DETROIT – A woman in Detroit has been unable to get in or out of her garage due to a fallen wire.

An Xfinity cable line fell across her property on Monday, June 10, and she reported it, but it has taken days for crews to come out and get it fixed.

She said she’s called multiple times but couldn’t get any help.

Hank Winchester put in a call to Comcast/Xfinity and about an hour later, a crew was fixing the problem once and for all. They reattached the line and made sure it was clear and out of the way for the woman and her husband.

If you have a downed Comcast line, visit xfinity.com/xfinityassistant, or call 1-800-XFINITY and provide the address. You don’t need to be an Xfinity customer to report.

If you see or suspect a downed power line, keep children and pets at least 25 feet away from the wire and anything in contact with it. Always assume a wire is dangerous, even if it’s lying still. Call 911 before contacting DTE Energy at 800-947-5000 or Consumers Energy at 800-477-5050.
