Annual German Park picnics return to Ann Arbor this summer

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – Raise a glass and say “prost” during the return of the annual German Park picnics this summer.

The German Park Recreation Club will open the doors of its picnic space for traditional music, dancing and beer during the last Saturday of June, July and August.

Visitors can try traditional meals served at the first German Park picnic in 1938 while walking around two pavilions, a dance floor, parking lots, a smoking area and three picnic areas. Food and drinks can be exchanged for tickets bought during entrance.

Doors to the 5549 Pontiac Trail location will stay open between 4-9 p.m. and close at 11 p.m.

Admission costs $10 per person but anyone under the age of 21 must have a parent or guardian present. Children under age 12 can enter for free.

  • Saturday, June 29
  • Saturday, July 27
  • Saturday, August 31
