Good Samaritans cut through downed trees in NW Harris Co. after Hurricane Beryl’s catastrophic landfall

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – Welp friends, I can assure you the worst part of Beryl is OVER.

The Tropical Storm pushed up on our coastline, making landfall as a Cat 1 hurricane when it touched down in Matagorda Bay in the early hours of Monday morning.

Hurricane Beryl then ripped through the Houston area, leaving no stone unturned until she made her exit, turning back into a Tropical Storm in the Houston area around noon.

Although the storm is over for many residents, it’s time for the next step... clean-up.

Hundreds of residents across the Greater Houston area and beyond will now have to try and salvage what is left of their belongings after major damage from the storm.

Dozens of neighborhoods saw downed trees, snapped power lines, and high street flooding on Monday morning. Now, folks are working to clean up the mess.

KPRC 2 Producer Kait Catuiza was out on the roadways and noticed a group of Good Samaritans lending a hand, trying to help cut a toppled tree

The clean-up was taking place on Cutten Road near Cypresswood Drive.
