Heavy rain causes flooding on Houston area roadways

HOUSTON – Heavy rain from a line of storms is impacting the Houston area, leading to a few roadways reporting high water.

KPRC 2 is urging residents to “turn around, don’t drown” if they happen to encounter some of these roadways, but we’re also giving drivers a heads-up before heading out the door.

Here is a list of high-water locations by Houston TranStar:

  • SH-6 Southbound At IH-45
  • SH-35 Eastbound At SH-6
  • FM-2920 Eastbound At Park Rd to Calvert Rd
  • IH-10 East Eastbound At Beltway 8-East (Exit ramp, left interchange ramp, right interchange ramp)
  • IH-10 Katy Eastbound At IH-610 West Loop/ US 290 Direct Connect
  • IH-10 Katy Eastbound At IH-610 West Loop/ US 290 Direct Connect
  • IH-45 North Southbound At Little York Rd (entrance ramp)
  • IH-69 Southwest Northbound After Hillcroft Ave (2 frontage road lanes)
