Barbara Ann Pigott was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She left this world suddenly on June 22, 2024, at the age of 74.
Barbara, or “BaBa” as she was affectionally known, was the daughter of John Breckenridge King and Almyra Hogan King. They proceed her in death along with her brother, John Breckenridge King, and her sister, Claire King Sargent. She is survived by her husband and love of her life, Jim Pigott, her daughter, Ashley Hewitt, her grandson, Wyatt Greenbaum, and her twin sister, Fran Noone, as well as many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
Barbara attended Murrah High School and the University of Southern Mississippi where she also acquired her master’s degree in social work. She served as Director of Social Services at Catholic Charities for thirty-five years—a calling she took tremendous pride in. She was a compassionate woman who listened attentively, and helping others through difficult times came naturally to her.
Barbara was a life-long yoga practitioner and teacher, who loved spending time in her garden and being at home on the lake with her pets and family. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Catholic Charities of Jackson Battered Families Shelter or the charity of your choice in her honor.
