About Us
Communities In Schools of Memphis is an accredited affiliate of the nation’s largest, most effective dropout prevention organization.
Challenge
Nearly half of all children in Memphis live below the poverty line, the highest child poverty rate in the United States.
Our Solution
Relationships, not programs, change the trajectory of life for at-risk students.
In partnership with local school districts, we provide daily school-based interventions to students in grades PreK–12 to address chronic absenteeism, academic failure, behavioral issues, social service needs, and “much” more.

Through an innovative interlocking approach, we amplify the power of each student’s potential by connecting them to caring adults and personalized community resources designed to help them overcome obstacles so they can succeed in school and in life.
