Thunderstorms, tornadoes threat possible Tuesday in Cincinnati. Track Beryl remnants
Haadiza OgwudeRemnants of Beryl, a Category 1 hurricane that made landfall early Monday morning near Matagorda Beach on the Gulf Coast of Texas, will cause unstable weather to move through the Tristate area starting Tuesday.
According to USA Today, Beryl has weakened from a tropical storm to a tropical depression as its center tracks inland over East Texas. The storm will likely merge with a front, bringing heavy rain and the chance for tornadoes to the Ohio Valley region.
The National Weather Service in Wilmington reports that scattered showers and embedded thunderstorms are expected to increase coverage on Tuesday. Isolated, weak tornadoes could also form in the afternoon and evening, per a hazardous weather outlook. Locally heavy rainfall cannot be ruled at night.
Temperatures will be in the lower 80s northwest to the lower 90s in the southeast.
Widespread showers and embedded thunderstorms will move northeast of the area on Wednesday, but a threat of precipitation will persist. Wind gusts up to 35 to 40 mph will be possible. Temperatures on Wednesday will be cooler, ranging from the mid- to upper 70s northwest to the lower 80s southeast.
Beryl remnants will move northeast of the area Wednesday night. Rain chances will reduce overnight. Cooler, drier air will move into the Ohio Valley region by Thursday. High temperatures and humidity will return by Friday.
