Watch: Elly De La Cruz finds out he'll represent Cincinnati Reds in 2024 MLB All-Star Game

The Cincinnati Reds shared video via Twitter/X of manager David Bell informing the team that shortstop Elly De La Cruz will represent the Reds and the National League in the 2024 MLB All-Star Game in Texas.

De La Cruz is the third All-Star shortstop for the Reds since National Baseball Hall of Famer Barry Larkin was a 12-time All-Star for Cincinnati. Larkin congratulated De La Cruz with a tweet Sunday night.

In the video, MLB's stolen-base leader addressed the team upon learning the news. He told reporters, per The Enquirer's Charlie Goldsmith, that "it feels great, but I'm also grateful."
