A Newcastle fan zone is making the bold claim that it will have the 'largest screen' in the city for Wednesday's Euro 2024 semi final, as England take on the Netherlands.

There was another nailbiter on Saturday when Gareth Southgate's team took on Switzerland for a place in the final four, having made it to the quarters without ever really impressing in any of their matches to get them there. As is so often the case with England, it wasn't plain sailing as it was Switzerland who took the lead after 75 minutes, before Saka levelled five minutes later.

Neither of the teams managed to find a crucial winner in extra time, meaning that the result went down to penalties. And this time there was to be no repeat of the spot kick heartache from the Euro final three years ago, as all five England players found the net and Jordan Pickford saved one from the Swiss.

England's win at the weekend sets them up for a semi against the Netherlands, who like the Three Lions haven't wowed fans or pundits with their performances so far, having made it through their group in third place. It looks set to be a close encounter between the two teams in Dortmund on Wednesday and one place that is sure to be bouncing back in Newcastle is NX.

A deluge of rain couldn't stop the party at the huge indoor fan zone on Saturday and there were wild scenes both when England equalised and when they clinched the win on penalties. NX goes again on July 10 and are claiming that their 6x3 metre screen will be the biggest the match will be shown on in Newcastle.

Limited early bird tickets are available HERE costing £5.

Once again hosted by The Magpie Channel's Matty Renton, NX's fan zone for England v Netherlands will also feature a live performance of the National Anthem right before kick off and a huge flag display.
