A: This proverb refers to the section of the Great Wall built during the Warring States Period (475-221 BC) by the State of Qin, specifically at the western foot of Liupan Mountain in Guyuan, Ningxia Hui autonomous region, which was constructed to defend against nomadic forces such as the Xirong.
