Art is a form of communication and painting, as one of its languages, has been an important way to record and illustrate events.

Painters in China have used their brushes to tell stories about the country's historic achievements in the past decade.

In September, China Daily's Times' Palette Studio signed a memorandum of understanding with the China Academy of Art, the Sichuan Fine Arts Institute, the Xi'an Academy of Fine Arts, the Luxun Academy of Fine Arts, the Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts and the Hubei Institute of Fine Arts to build a joint platform to introduce Chinese paintings to the world.

Presenting eight paintings from the China Academy of Art, the Sichuan Fine Arts Institute and the Luxun Academy of Fine Arts, this page demonstrates how people's lives have been improved and how the country has forged ahead in ecological preservation and environmental protection over the past decade.
