A Zion-Benton Township High School student stabbed another student during a fight at the school, police said Tuesday.

Joseph Bragg, 18, of Zion, was taken into custody by Zion police and has been charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and aggravated battery causing great bodily harm, officials said.

Bragg stabbed a 15-year-old student during a fight Monday, police said. The student is expected to recover.

Staff at the school reported the incident to police, and staff had both students in their care by the time police arrived. Zion police said they were not disclosing at this time what may have sparked the fight.

Bragg appeared in court Tuesday where his bond was set at $75,000. He was being held in the Lake County jail, police said,

The incident remains under investigation, and additional charges may be filed, police said.
