In 2011, Larissa and Michael Milne quit their jobs, sold their house, gave away their possessions and took off from their hometown of Philadelphia to travel around the world for a year with a Rocky statue. After adapting to a simpler, nomadic life they are still on the road and now call the world their home.
They write the “Field-Tested Travel Tips” column and feature articles for the Philadelphia Inquirer. They also write on their travel blog at Changes In Longitude which won a Lowell Thomas Travel Journalism Silver Award for Best Travel Blog.
Their articles have appeared in National Geographic’s Intelligent Traveler, USA Today, Huffington Post, AAA World, Go Magazine, American Airlines, Serious Eats and other media outlets.
They are popular public speakers about transforming your life and have appeared at TEDx, Penn State Arts & Culture Series, the Philadelphia Travel Show, and other events. Larissa has also taught classes at Travel Bloggers Exchange (TBEX) in Stockholm and Minneapolis. In her spare time, she teaches online courses as an adjunct professor in the Close School of Entrepreneurship at Drexel University and is a member of the Society of American Travel Writers.
Michael was a judge for the Great Plains Journalism Awards and has spoken at the World Forum for Motor Museums in Germany and National Association of Automobile Museums in the United States. His automotive writing appears regularly in Hemmings Motor News, Octane, Classic & Sports Car (UK), and Classic Motorsports. An avid griller, he always travels with a pair of barbecue tongs, just in case.
