It is a law that directly impacts my family, friends, and countless others who have made Atlanta their home.

This bill not only threatens our community but also undermines our values as a nation built by immigrants. The Migration Policy Institute estimates that as of 2018, there were nearly 400,000 unauthorized immigrants living in Georgia (Migration Policy Institute). These are people who contribute daily to our economy and society.

Moreover, this law could potentially lead to racial profiling and unjust arrests based on appearance or accent alone. It's an infringement on civil liberties that we cannot stand for.
