The CCAC works to reduce powerful but short-lived climate pollutants (SLCPs) – methane, black carbon, hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs), and tropospheric ozone – that drive both climate change and air pollution.

Why climate and clean air?
Actions that address climate change and air pollution at the same time achieve greater results. We promote actions to reduce short-lived climate pollutants that have quick impacts on global warming, air quality, food security and human health.

Short-lived climate pollutants have a strong near-term warming effect on the climate and significant impacts on our health and the environment.

Simple actions, such as plugging methane leaks from oil and gas production, banning agricultural burning, and composting food waste, can drastically reduce emissions.

can avoid up to
0.6°C
of warming by 2050
