  • Nets' Keon Johnson: Inks multi-year deal with Brooklyn

The Nets and Johnson agreed to terms on a multi-year contract Saturday,Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.

Johnson spent the 2023-24 season on a two-way contract and appeared in just five games with the Nets. However, the 21-year-old was excellent in the G League, averaging 17.7 points, 5.7 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.1 steals in 41 regular-season games and led the Long Island Nets to the G League finals. The 22-year-old also showed well enough in Summer League to earn a multi-year deal with the rebuilding Nets.

  • Nets' Ziaire Williams: Dealt to Brooklyn

The Grizzlies traded Williams (back/hip) and a 2030 second-round pick to the Nets on Friday in exchange for Mamadi Diakite and the draft rights to Nemanja Dangubic, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.

Williams made 51 appearances (15 starts) for the Grizzlies in 2023-24 before missing the remainder of the season with a right lower back injury and a hip flexor strain. Before the injury, the 22-year-old forward averaged 8.2 points, 3.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 20.4 minutes. However, efficiency was an issue. He shot just 39.7 percent from the field and 30.7 percent from three-point range. If Williams can enter the 2024-25 campaign healthy, he will likely compete for bench minutes in Brooklyn's forward rotation.

  • Nets' Noah Clowney: Drills five triples in win

Clowney converted five three-pointers on eight attempts and tallied 18 points (6-11 FG, 1-1 FT), five rebounds, four assists, two steals and two turnovers across 34 minutes in Thursday's Summer League win over Orlando.

Clowney was hot from beyond the arc, but there's no reason to overreact to one exhibition game in July. He attempted a total of 33 three-pointers last season and converted only 12 of them, and prior to today's outburst, he had gone 3-of-13 from distance in Las Vegas. Still, Clowney remains an exciting prospect, but as long as Nic Claxton is in Brooklyn, his upside will be muted.

  • Nets' Jaylen Martin: Scores 12 points in Summer League

Marten logged 12 points (4-12 FG, 0-4 3Pt, 4-4 FT), eight rebounds, an assist and three steals across 24 minutes of Friday's 97-95 win over the Pacers in overtime.

Martin missed the final three games of the 2023-24 regular season with a sprained left ankle, but he's overcome the injury and operated as Brooklyn's sixth man Friday. The 20-year-old inked a two-year, two-way contract with the Nets in February, and although he'd been part of the Nets' roster, he has yet to make his NBA debut.

  • Nets' Dariq Whitehead: Starting in Summer League

Whitehead is in the starting lineup for the Nets' Summer League game against the Clippers on Sunday, Law Murray of The Athletic reports.

Whitehead appears to have made a full recovery from a procedure he had in January to address a left shin stress reaction, and has started in both the Nets Summer League games this far. Whitehead played 28 minutes Friday against Indiana and generated five points (1-12 FG, 0-7 3Pt, 3-4 FT), six rebounds, an assist, three steals and two blocks.

  • Nets' Trendon Watford: Staying with Brooklyn

Watford signed a one-year, $2.73 million contract Brooklyn on Tuesday, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.

Watford had been a restricted free agent, but because he signed his qualifying offer, he'll become an unrestricted free agent next summer. He made 63 appearances for the Nets during the 2023-24 season, posting averages of 6.9 points, 3.1 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 13.6 minutes.

Schroder (Achilles) posted 17 points (6-13 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 3-4 FT), four assists, one rebound and one steal across 27 minutes in Germany's 70-65 win over France on Monday.

Schroder missed the final two games of the Nets' season due to an Achilles injury. In 2023-24, he averaged 14.6 points, 6.0 assists and 3.5 rebounds in 32.0 minutes per game. However, the 30-year-old's injury seems to no longer be a concern as Germany prepares for the Olympic Games in Paris. Through two preparation games, the veteran point guard is averaging 20.0 points, 5.0 assists and 1.0 rebounds across 27.5 minutes. Schroder and Germany will officially begin the games by facing off against Japan on July 27.

Milton signed a three-year, $9 million contract with the Knicks on Thursday before being shipped, along with Bojan Bogdanovic, to the Nets as part of the sign-and-trade that will send Mikal Bridges and Keita Bates-Diop (shin) to the Knicks, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.

While the final two years of Milton's contract are non-guaranteed, he will have an opportunity to compete for backcourt minutes on a rebuilding Nets squad. In 2023-24, Milton averaged 4.5 points, 1.6 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 12.1 minutes across 48 total appearances for the Pistons, Timberwolves and Knicks in the regular season.

However, the 20-year-old went undrafted, and he will now have the opportunity to compete for a roster spot with the Nets during Summer League.
