    Caballero went 0-for-3 with a walk, a run scored, and a stolen base in Saturday's 9-1 win over the Yankees.

    Caballero swiped second before coming around to score in the fourth inning and then walked in the eighth. The stolen base was actually the shortstop's first in what has been a disappointing July, but he still leads the American League with 25 steals on 36 attempts this season. While speed is his primary asset, the 27-year-old is also hitting .241 with six home runs, 24 RBI and 39 runs scored across 294 plate appearances.

  • Rays' Isaac Paredes: Homers in win

    Paredes went 1-for-4 with a solo home run and two runs scored in Saturday's 9-1 win over the Yankees.

    Paredes homered to lead off the fifth inning and then walked and scored a run in the seventh. The 25-year-old has gone hitless in eight of 14 July contests but has still managed three homers and eight RBI despite his struggles. On the year, he is hitting .258 with 16 home runs, 51 RBI and 38 runs scored across 394 plate appearances.

    Arozarena went 4-for-5 with two home runs and three RBI in Saturday's 9-1 win over the Yankees.

    Arozarena singled in the first inning, homered in the fifth and seventh and then added a double in the ninth. It was a massive day in what has been a solid July for the 29-year-old, as he has hit safely in 12 of 14 contests this month with three long balls and four steals. Since June 1, he has seen his average climb from .158 to .212 to go along with 14 home runs and 14 stolen bases across 388 plate appearances this season.

    Bradley (5-4) earned the win against the Yankees on Saturday, allowing one hit and two walks while striking out five over seven scoreless innings.

    The only hit Bradley allowed was a leadoff double to Ben Rice, and he concluded his outing by retiring 11 consecutive batters. The 23-year-old has now tossed seven scoreless frames in back-to-back starts and has yielded two earned runs or fewer in eight straight. He owns a 2.63 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 90:26 K:BB across 75.1 innings and lines up for a home matchup with the Reds next week.

    Mead will rejoin the Rays as infield depth to replace Yandy Diaz (personal), who landed on the restricted list Saturday. Mead was optioned to Triple-A in early May after slashing .218/.269/.276 through 93 plate appearances, and he's since posted an .847 OPS in the minor leagues. He's unlikely to see regular playing time while with the Rays and will likely return to Durham once Diaz rejoins the team.

    Eflin (5-7) took the loss Friday against the Yankees, allowing five runs (four earned) on seven hits and four walks over five innings. He struck out five.

    The Rays right-hander labored in Yankee Stadium, issuing a season-worst four walks. Before this outing, Eflin hadn't granted four free passes in an appearance since Sept. 23, 2019, when he was a member of the Phillies' rotation. After opening the season with a 3.75 ERA across his first eight starts, the 30-year-old hasn't been as sharp over his last 10 outings, pitching to a 4.47 ERA and 44:9 K:BB in 56.1 innings. Eflin is currently scheduled to make his next start against the Blue Jays in Toronto.

    Rasmussen (elbow) will make his first rehab start with Triple-A Durham on Sunday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

    Rasmussen began the season on the 60-day injured list after undergoing an internal brace procedure in July of 2023. He started throwing bullpen sessions in May, and the 28-year-old right-hander is ready to take the next step in his rehab program. Rasmussen should return to the majors in early August and work out of Tampa Bay's bullpen down the stretch, but he remains in the team's rotation plans for 2025, per Evan Closky of 10 Tampa Bay.

  • Rays' Jeffrey Springs: Set for rehab start Saturday

    Springs (elbow) will make a rehab start with Triple-A Durham on Saturday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

    In his last rehab outing July 14, Springs gave up five runs (four earned) on eight hits and one walk while striking out three across 4.2 innings. While it was the worst outing of his rehab stint, he was able to toss 77 pitches (51 strikes), and he appears to be nearing the end of his recovery from Tommy John surgery. After converting to a full-time starter for the Rays in May of 2022, Springs posted a 9-5 record over 25 starts with a 2.46 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 144:31 K:BB across 135.1 frames.

    Basabe has been shelved for most of this season after suffering a fractured right wrist back in mid-April, but he's ready to play for Durham again after completing a 12-game rehab assignment in the rookie-level Florida Complex League affiliate, during which he posted a .945 OPS. posting a .945 OPS and a 9:1 BB:K. The 23-year-old had started games at shortstop, second base and third base with Durham before getting hurt and should go back to bouncing around the infield at the Triple-A level.

    Triple-A Durham activated Caminero (quadricep0 from the 7-day injured list Friday.

    Caminero has been out since late May with a Grade 2 left quad strain but is ready to rejoin Durham's active roster after slugging three home runs in six rehab games with the Rays' rookie-level Florida Complex League affiliate. The top prospect had slashed .261/.333/.478 with eight home runs over 153 plate appearances with Durham this season before landing on the IL. He could push for a promotion to the majors later this season, though probably not until after the trade deadline.

  • Rays' Tyler Zuber: Added to 40-man roster

    The Rays selected Zuber's contract Thursday and optioned him to Triple-A Durham.

    The transaction would seem to be related to the Rays wanting to prevent Zuber from exercising an opt-out clause in his minor-league contract. The 29-year-old reliever holds a 2.49 ERA and 29:6 K:BB over 21.2 innings this season at Durham. He hasn't appeared in the majors since 2021.
