  • White Sox's Mike Clevinger: Next rehab start scheduled

Clevinger (elbow) will make another rehab start with Triple-A Charlotte on Tuesday, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Tuesday will mark Clevinger's fifth rehab start in Triple-A, and it will be his third start since neck stiffness forced him to pause his assignment in late June. Manager Pedro Grifol said the team still hasn't decided if the 33-year-old will require an additional rehab outing, though how he performs Tuesday may have an impact in that decision. Across his four starts, Clevinger has surrendered 10 earned runs in 14.1 innings while striking out 13 batters and walking four.

  • White Sox's Sammy Peralta: Called up Saturday

Peralta was called up from Triple-A Charlotte on Saturday, LaMond Pope of the Chicago Tribune reports.

Peralta will return to the big leagues after being sent down to Charlotte on June 11, replacing Jordan Leasure (shoulder) in Chicago's bullpen after Leasure was placed on the 15-day injured list Saturday. Peralta has produced an impressive 1.08 ERA and 0.74 WHIP with 17 strikeouts over 16.2 innings in 14 appearances with Charlotte and he'll look to keep it up in the majors.

  • White Sox's Jordan Leasure: Placed on 15-day IL

Leasure was placed on the 15-day injured list with a right shoulder impingement Saturday, retroactive to July 17, LaMond Pope of the Chicago Tribune reports.

Leasure last appeared in a game Sunday, giving up four runs on four hits and a walk over one inning against the Pirates. He will now be forced to miss at least 15 days, but considering the injury is to his throwing arm, he'll likely be sidelined longer. In a corresponding move, left-hander Sammy Peralta was recalled from Triple-A Charlotte on Saturday.

  • White Sox's Nick Senzel: Sitting Saturday

Senzel is not in the starting lineup against the Royals on Saturday.

Senzel will head to the bench after he went 0-for-4 with a strikeout in Friday's 7-1 loss. Paul DeJong will slide over to third base while Nicky Lopez enters the lineup at shortstop and bats seventh versus Kansas City.

  • White Sox's Korey Lee: Day off Saturday

Lee is not in the starting lineup Saturday versus the Royals.

Lee will take a seat after he went 1-for-7 with a solo home run while starting the team's last two games. Chuckie Robinson will draw the start behind the plate and bat ninth against Kansas City.

  • White Sox's Chris Flexen: Crushed by Royals

Flexen (2-9) yielded seven runs on four hits and five walks over 4.2 innings Friday, striking out four and taking a loss against Kansas City.

Flexen allowed two runs through four innings before the Royals broke out with a five-run fifth. It was the second time he gave up seven runs in a start this year, with the last one coming against the Yankees on May 19. His season ERA jumped from 4.82 to 5.22 with the ugly start and he's produced a lackluster 75:41 K:BB through 101.2 innings. Flexen is currently lined up to start in Texas next week.

  • White Sox's Nicky Lopez: On bench in Baldwin's debut

Lopez is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Royals.

The lefty-hitting Lopez will take a seat against Royals right-hander Michael Wacha in the White Sox's first game after the All-Star break. With the White Sox calling up prospect Brooks Baldwin from Triple-A Charlotte and installing him as the starter at second base Friday in his MLB debut, Lopez's time as a regular in the infield could be over. The veteran went hitless over his final three starts before the break, bringing his season-long slash line down to a dismal .240/.297/.287 over 285 plate appearances.

  • White Sox's Steven Wilson: Brought up to bigs

The White Sox recalled Wilson from Triple-A Charlotte on Friday.

Wilson will be back with the White Sox after being optioned July 8, supplying some bullpen depth with Michael Soroka (shoulder) moving to the injured list. Wilson owns a 3.46 ERA across 26.0 innings with the White Sox this season.

  • White Sox's Chuckie Robinson: Recalled from Triple-A

The White Sox recalled Robinson from Triple-A Charlotte on Friday.

The 29-year-old is taking over as the backup catcher behind Korey Lee after Martin Maldonado was designated for assignment. Robinson has a .407 OPS in 25 career games at the big-league level, but he has flashed a bit of power with 20 homers and a .275/.335/.428 slash line in 155 Triple-A games over the last two seasons.

  • White Sox's Michael Soroka: Out with shoulder strain

The White Sox placed Soroka on the 15-day injured list Friday, retroactive to July 16, due to a right shoulder strain.

The right-hander suffered the injury during the final game before the All-Star break Sunday. Soroka will be eligible for reinstatement July 30, though it's unclear how long he's expected to be sidelined.

  • White Sox's Brooks Baldwin: Starting at second base in debut

The White Sox selected Baldwin's contract from Triple-A Charlotte on Friday.

Baldwin is starting at second base and batting eighth Friday in Kansas City in what will be his major-league debut. The switch-hitting infielder earned a promotion after slashing .324/.391/.460 with eight home runs and 17 stolen bases between Double-A Birmingham and Charlotte this season. Baldwin should see regular playing time for the White Sox, perhaps in a super-utility role rather than as an everyday option at the keystone.

  • White Sox's Danny Mendick: Clears waivers, heads to Triple-A

Mendick cleared waivers Friday and was outrighted to Triple-A Charlotte, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports.

Mendick was designated for assignment Wednesday to clear the way for Nick Senzel to join the active roster. After going unclaimed, Mendick will join the White Sox's Triple-A affiliate. He has logged 141 plate appearances with the White Sox this season and posted a .561 OPS with three homers and six stolen bases.

  • White Sox's Jimmy Lambert: Cleared for rehab assignment

Lambert (shoulder) will begin a rehab assignment with the White Sox' Arizona Complex League affiliate Friday, James Fegan of SoxMachine.com reports.

Lambert has been out all season with a right rotator cuff strain. Given how much time he's missed, he will require several rehab appearances. Lambert posted a 5.26 ERA and 41:20 K:BB over 37.2 innings with the White Sox in 2023.

  • White Sox's Nick Senzel: Likely to see bulk of starts at 2B

Senzel is in line to serve as the White Sox's primary second baseman for the second half of the season, Vinnie Duber of AllCHGO.com reports.

Senzel hasn't played second base at all in 2024 and has just 16 games (seven starts) under his belt at the position in the majors. However, the keystone is reportedly where the White Sox intend to use him most days after signing him to a one-year contract following his release from the Nationals. Senzel's positional situation should ultimately be fluid, and he's not guaranteed regular playing time if he doesn't perform.

  • White Sox's Brooks Baldwin: Set to receive promotion

The White Sox will call up Baldwin from Triple-A Charlotte prior to Friday's game in Kansas City, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Baldwin, who turns 24 next month, has slashed .324/.391/.460 with eight home runs and 17 stolen bases between Double-A Birmingham and Charlotte this season. The switch-hitter has mostly played shortstop this season, but he also has plenty of experience at second and third base in addition to the outfield. Baldwin should see regular at-bats in the infield for the White Sox, perhaps bouncing around between multiple positions.

  • White Sox's Martin Maldonado: Dropped from 40-man

The White Sox designated Maldonado for assignment Wednesday, Ken Rosenthal and Chandler Rome of The Athletic report.

After slashing .119/.174/.230 across 147 plate appearances during what has been the worst season of his career at the plate, Maldonado has now officially lost his roster spot with the White Sox. Given his poor performance, the 37-year-old backstop will most likely pass through waivers unclaimed, at which point he would have the option to elect free agency.

  • White Sox's Lenyn Sosa: Sent down to minors

The White Sox optioned Sosa to Triple-A Charlotte on Wednesday, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Sosa had a stretch recently with five straight multi-hit games, but he finished the first half going just 2-for-22 across his last six contests and has managed just a .624 OPS on the season. Nick Senzel will take Sosa's spot on the roster and could also replace him as the White Sox's everyday third baseman.
