  • Texans' Christian Harris: Dealing with leg injury

Harris has missed the team's last three practices due to a soft-tissue leg injury, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.

The second-year linebacker was a revelation for Houston in the latter half of the team's playoff campaign, as Harris tallied 75 tackles, 2.0 sacks and an interception in his final nine games including the playoffs. While the lack of specific details regarding the injury is noteworthy, it doesn't sound as if the team expects Harris to be limited entering Week 1 come early September.

  • Cam Sims WR | CAR

Panthers' Cam Sims: Lands on PUP list

The Panthers placed Sims (undisclosed) on the active/PUP list Saturday, Mike Kaye of The Charlotte Observer reports.

Sims signed a reserve/future contract with Carolina in January after jumping around between the practice squads of multiple organizations last year. He could still have a chance in training camp to compete for a spot on the Panthers' 53-man roster, but he'll need to pass a physical before he's eligible to practice and play in preseason contests.

  • Panthers' Chau Smith-Wade: Added to PUP list

Carolina placed Smith-Wade (undisclosed) on the active/PUP list Saturday, Mike Kaye of The Charlotte Observer reports.

Smith-Wade's placement on the list comes as a surprise, as he was healthy for the Panthers' OTAs. The nature of the rookie fifth-round pick's injury is unclear at this time. Smith-Wade can be activated at any point during the preseason, at which time he'd be eligible to practice and play in exhibition contests.

  • Saints' Rashid Shaheed: Gets extension from Saints

Shaheed and New Orleans agreed to a one-year, $5.2 million contract extension Saturday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Shaheed earned the extension partly due to his work as a punt returner after he garnered his first career All-Pro and Pro Bowl selections as a special-teamer last season. The 25-year-old also showed growth as a wide receiver, finishing with 46 catches for 719 yards and five touchdowns over 15 regular-season contests, eight of which he started. Shahid should get the opportunity to further develop in that role during the upcoming campaign, as he's slated to work as the Saints' No. 2 receiving option behind Chris Olave (shoulder).

  • Shaquil Barrett: Set to retire

Barrett has informed Miami that he intends to retire, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Barrett entered the NFL with the Broncos as an undrafted free agent in 2014 and played 131 regular-season games over the course of a nine-year career that included four campaigns with Denver and five with Tampa Bay. He joined the Dolphins on a one-year contract this March but won't end up playing for the organization. Barrett finishes his career as a two-time Pro Bowler and a two-time NFL champion, having accumulated 400 career regular-season tackles, including 59.0 sacks, along with three interceptions, one of which he returned for a touchdown. His retirement will reduce the Dolphins' depth on the edge, especially with both Bradley Chubb (knee) and Jaelan Phillips (Achilles) opening training camp on the reserve/PUP list.

  • Seahawks' Anthony Bradford: Passes physical

Bradford (undisclosed) passed his physical Saturday.

Bradford was placed on the active/NFI list Thursday, but he's now been cleared to practice. The second-year pro is slated to work as Seattle's starting right guard during the coming campaign.

  • Erick All TE | CIN

Bengals' Erick All: Put on active/NFI list

The Bengals placed All (knee) on the active/non-football injury list Saturday.

All tore the ACL in his right knee last October, but that didn't prevent Cincinnati from selecting him in the fourth round of the 2024 NFL Draft. It's not clear how far along All in his recovery or whether he'll be ready to play by the start of the regular season. However, he can be activated off the NFI list at any point during training camp, at which point he'd be able to practice and play in preseason contests.

  • Bengals' Devonnsha Maxwell: Lands on PUP list

Cincinnati placed Maxwell on the active/PUP list Saturday.

After signing with the Bengals as an undrafted free agent prior to last season, Maxwell ended up spending the entire campaign on IR due to a knee injury. He participated in the team's minicamp earlier this summer but appears to still be recovering. Maxwell can be activated off the PUP list at any time this preseason, at which point he can participate in practice and exhibition games.

  • DJ Ivey CB | CIN

Bengals' DJ Ivey: Sent to PUP list

The Bengals placed Ivey (knee) on the active/PUP list Saturday.

Ivey ended last season on IR due to an ACL injury he suffered Week 15 versus Minnesota, and the cornerback isn't yet fully recovered. He can be activated off the PUP list at any time during the preseason, at which point he'd be eligible to practice and play in exhibition contests.

  • Arik Armstead DE | JAC

Jaguars' Arik Armstead: Goes on PUP list

The Jaguars placed Armstead (knee) on the active/PUP list Saturday.

Armstead is continuing to recover from offseason knee surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his right knee. He was initially expected to be ready for the start of training camp but isn't yet up to full speed. However, Armstead can be activated at any point during camp and is eligible to play in the preseason.
