2 found dead in pool in Pine Township

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) — Two people were found dead in a pool in Pine Township on Thursday.

The Allegheny County Police Department said in a news release that officers were called to Whetherburn Drive in Pine Township for a welfare check around 6 p.m. At the residence, first responders found two adult men dead in a pool.

One of the men has been identified by the medical examiner's office as 63-year-old Christopher Gebhardt. The other man identified as 57-year-old William Miller.

Bryan Johanson has lived across the street from Gebhardt since 2006.

"He was a great guy," he said. "He was always very friendly, always out working in the yard. If you're walking your dog or going for a walk, he'll always chat with you."

"He's going to be missed," he added.

County police said a preliminary investigation found no signs of foul play. The investigation is ongoing.
