ODESSA, Texas (KOSA) - CBS7 FIRST ALERT Forecast for Sunday, July 7th, 2024: After a bit of a break from the heat the past few days, temperatures will warm back into the triple digits for most on Sunday.

Overnight, temperatures will cool into the 60s and 70s under mostly clear skies. Highs Sunday will warm into the 90s and triple digits across the region with the majority reaching the triple digits. Midland/Odessa are looking to reach a high temperature of 101 degrees. Winds through the day will range from 5 to 15 miles per hour under mostly sunny skies. Isolated thunderstorms will be possible near the Davis Mountains, but the majority will remain dry coming up Sunday.

Our next cold front will push through the area on Monday and will cool temperatures back down. Highs will remain right around normal for the majority of the next 10-days. Rain chances also return to the forecast on Monday, albeit slight. Slight rain chances will also remain through the majority of the extended period. Even though there are multiple days of rain chances, rainfall amounts over the next week look to remain slim.

Beryl’s track has shifted and is now headed towards East-Central Texas, so we will not see any impacts from it here in West Texas.
