ODESSA, Texas (KOSA) - CBS7 FIRST ALERT Forecast for Friday, July 5th, 2024: After a bit of an active Independence Day, rain chances continue coming up on Friday.

Overnight, temperatures will cool into the 60s, 70s and 80s across the region. A cold front will push through the region Friday which will help to cool down temperatures for the majority. Midland is looking to reach a high temperature of 91 degrees while Odessa is looking to reach a high temperature of 92 degrees. Scattered showers and thunderstorms remain in the forecast, especially in the evening hours heading into Saturday. The good news is that we’re just looking to see general thunderstorms across the area.

Rain chances continue Saturday as well before we dry things out and warm conditions up on Sunday. Triple digits look to make a return for the second half of the weekend before another cold front moves through the area Monday, cooling temperatures back into the 90s for the remainder of the extended period. Along with cooler temperatures, rain chances continue through the majority of the next 10-days. It’s looking like Hurricane Beryl will impact Texas, but it’s still too early to know whether or not it will impact us here in West Texas. Stay tuned for updates as we head closer to the new week.
