MIDLAND, Texas (KOSA) - Midland Memorial Hospital received an Energy to Care award from the American Society for Health Care Engineering.

Energy to Care is a sustainability program that tracks energy, water and emissions reduction efforts at health care facilities. About 2.3% of the facilities enrolled in the program were given the award, MMH is one of 102 facilities.

Participants record and report their energy and water consumption, as well as greenhouse gas emissions, in the Energy to Care Dashboard. Energy to Care Award-winning facilities demonstrate a 10% greater reduction in energy use intensity over the previous year, or 15% over two years.

“We are honored to receive Energy to Care® Award. This achievement underscores our commitment to maintaining a healthy environment for our patients, staff and community. We are proud to lead the way in reducing our carbon footprint and promoting a sustainable future,” said Abraham Bejil, Vice President of Facility Services.

Chuck Brooks, Director of Hospital Engineering, will accept this award on behalf of MMH at ASHE’s Health Care Facilities Innovation Conference in Anaheim, Calif., on July 24.
