MIDLAND, Texas (KOSA) - Midland County Warrant Services’ main phone number is being used in a scam that tells people they need to contact “Officer Green” about a warrant, but that is a scam. There is no “Officer Green” employed by Warrant Services.

The callers have been misled into believing they are in legal trouble and need to take urgent action. Warrant Services wishes to assure the public that these calls are not originating from our organization and are likely part of a scam targeting unsuspecting individuals

So far the county has received two reports of this scam.

“We take the issue of scamming very seriously,” said Tate Owen, Midland County Public Information Officer. “Our priority is the safety and trust of our community. We urge anyone who receives such a call to verify the authenticity of the information before taking any action.”

Midland County wants people to be cautious when receiving unexpected calls demanding personal information or payments. If you suspect you have been targeted by this scam or have any information regarding these fraudulent activities, please contact Warrant Services directly at 432-688-4700.
