ODESSA, Texas (KOSA) - The 2024 Bustin’ for Badges fundraiser was successful. The Midland and Odessa Police Departments and the Midland and Ector County Sheriff’s Offices each received checks for $140,000 dollars.

The three day clay shoot happened back in May.

Each department decides for itself what the money should be spent on. In the past money raised has been used for new equipment, bomb training, and on K-9 programs.

CPL. Steve LeSueur, the Vice President for Bustin’ for Badges and Public Information Officer at OPD said, “You know I just think there’s something to that West Texas hospitality, you know, I mean it’s here in this area, despite all the negativity, that has occurred across the country it’s nice that people are pro police here in this area that we live in. As you know this goes to a good cause.”
