MIDLAND, Texas (KOSA) - The Educational Results Partnership (ERP) named the Early College High School at Midland College (ECHS) a “STAR” campus, and both the Carver Center and the Young Women’s Leadership Academy (YWLA) have been designated as “Scholar” campuses.

All three are on the ERP Honor Roll, which only 835 schools in Texas, or about 12% earn that designation. The Honor Roll is based on student outcomes on the State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR) from 2019 through 2023.

Idea Yukon also earned the distinction.

The “STAR” recognition earned by ECHS celebrates schools that have excelled in closing achievement gaps, particularly among higher-poverty and historically disadvantaged student populations.

“We are honored to receive this recognition,” said ECHS Principal Blanca Golson. “This designation represents not only the success of our students but also the dedication of our teachers and staff.”

Carver Center and YWLA, recognized as “Scholar” campuses, have also demonstrated outstanding academic achievements and a commitment to providing an excellent education.

“This recognition is evidence of the hard work our teachers and students put in every single day,” said Carver Center Executive Director Stephanie Carnett. “I could not be more proud of the work we have done to prepare our students for what’s ahead,” added YWLA Principal Laura Doughty.
