Pecos-Barstow-Toyah ISD Superintendent awarded

PECOS/BARSTOW/TOYAH, Texas (KOSA) - Pecos-Barstow-Toyah ISD Superintendent Brent Jaco was named the 2024 Region 18 Superintendent of the year, an award sponsored by the Texas Association of School Boards.

Jaco has 26 years of experience in public education and has served as PBTISD Superintendent since 2020.

During his time with PBTISD, he’s helped to pass a combined $652 million dollars in bonds in 2021 and 2023.

Jaco told CBS7 he was surprised and honored to receive the award, and that being a Superintendent is his best job yet.

He has also worked closely with elected officials on public education, as well as improved safety and academics across his district.

This annual award has been given to a strong leader since 1984
