Canyon set for 4A UIL state semifinals
AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) - The Canyon Eagles are headed to the UIL state baseball tournament for the first since 2003. The Eagles defeated Stephenville in a best-of-three series in the Region 1 championship last week to punch their ticket to Austin.
The UIL 4A state semifinals are set. The semifinal round and the championship round is now a one-game round, no more best-of-three series.
Canyon will take on Texarkana Liberty-Eylau on Wednesday, June 5 at 4 p.m. at UFCU Disch Falk Field at the University of Texas at Austin.
If Canyon wins, they will advance to the state championship game on Thursday, June 6 at 6 p.m. They would then meet up with the winner of Corpus Christi Calallen and Longview Spring Hill.
