WICHITA FALLS, Texas (KFDA) - The Pampa Lady Harvesters fell to the Sanger Lady Indians 2-0 on Wednesday night in the first of a best-of-three series.

Sanger struck early in the first inning to quickly jump out in front. Kyley Cochran drew a leadoff walk, stole second, and tagged up on back-to-back fly outs to put the Lady Indians up 1-0.

Pampa struggled to get much going at the plate as Leala Kloewer was stellar in the circle for Sanger. The junior ace struck out 12 batters and allowed just two hits to the prolific Pampa lineup.

Sanger plated another insurance run in the top of the seventh inning as Piper Lindlau singled to center to bring Emily Wells around to score.

Kloewer picked up the final two outs of the night via strikeout to seal the victory for the Lady Indians.

For Pampa, Kynleigh Kirby was stellar despite the loss. She allowed just one hit in the game and notched three strikeouts.

The two teams will continue their series on Thursday at 1:00 p.m. at Midwestern State. If Pampa wins, they’ll force a winner-take-all Game 3 on Friday night.
