WICHITA FALLS, Texas (KFDA) - In an extra innings battle, Pampa came up just short in game two of the best-of-three series of the Region 1 Championship to Sanger, 4-3. Pampa dropped game one on Wednesday, 2-0. After a stellar season and making it back to the regional finals for the second time in program history, the Lady Harvester’s 2024 season has come to an end.

The Lady Harvesters jumped out early. Pampa scored first in the top half of the second inning. Karina Gonzalez singled on a line drive to center field scoring Haili Newton. In the very next inning, Kynleigh Kirby knocked one out of the park for a solo homer to make it 2-0.

Sanger answered back in the home half of the third with a two-run bomb from Abby Chapmond, knotting the game up at 2-2.

The Lady Harvesters took back the lead in the top of the fifth as McKinley Daniels hit an inside the park home run on a pop fly out to left field.

The Lady Indians then took advantage of a Pampa error to tie it back up in the bottom of the sixth. After a scoreless seventh inning, the game was forced into extra innings.

Sanger kept the Pampa offense at bay in the top of the eighth as the Lady Harvesters were not able to get a runner on the basepaths. In the bottom of the frame, Sanger walked it off as Sophia Troegle put down a bunt along the third base line to score Harley Miller. The Lady Indians took the Region 1 Championship over the Lady Harvesters and punched their ticket to the state tournament.

Congrats to the Pampa Lady Harvesters on another great season!
