One person killed after shooting in northeast Midland

MIDLAND, Texas (KOSA) - UPDATE 11:37 a.m. Wednesday, May 22:
Midland Police say that at 5:43 p.m. on Tuesday, officers responded to a shooting in the 6700 block of Rio Bravo.
When officers got to the scene, they found a man kneeling in the roadway holding a gun, while a deceased man lay nearby.
Investigators soon reviewed camera footage which showed the suspect shooting at a home and also shooting the victim in the roadway.
The suspect, 34-year-old Samuel Omamogho, was arrested on the scene and later charged with murder.
The victim is 41-year-old John Richard of Midland.
The investigation is still ongoing.
According to the City of Midland, one person is dead and another is in custody after shots were fired near 6700 Rio Bravo.
The City says that multiple rounds were fired during the shooting.
No other details are available at this time but we will update this story as we learn more.
