Lady Harvesters punch their ticket to regional finals for second time in school history

PAMPA, Texas (KFDA) - The Pampa Lady Harvesters defeated the Burkburnett Bulldogettes in the regional semifinals to advance to the regional finals for the second time in school history. Pampa defeated Burkburnett in a best-of-three series. Game one, the Lady Harvesters won 6-2, and in game two they won 8-1.

It was an explosive two games at the plate capped off by two dominate performances in the circle from Kynleigh Kirby. Over the course of the two games, Kirby pitched 13 innings only allowing three runs and 10 hits. Kirby retired 15 batters in her two victories in the circle.

At the plate, the Lady Harvesters accumulated 19 hits over the two games.

In game one, it was Kassie Arnzen leading the way. Arzen went a perfect 3-for-3 in the batter’s box and drove in one run. It only took Pampa three innings to put five runs on the board, and that was all they needed. The Lady Harvesters added an insurance run in the home half of the fifth to win game one, 6-2.

In game two, Karina Gonzalez had the hot bat. Gonzalez homered twice in the contest ending with two RBI. Burkburnett scored its only run of the game in the bottom of the first. By the end of the third, the Lady Harvesters were up 5-1. Three scoreless innings went by before Pampa added three more for insurance in the seventh. Briley Daniels, Carysn Hunt and Kirby also added two knocks at the plate.

The Lady Harvesters are headed to the regional finals for the first time since 2014 and second ever time in program history. They will play the winner of Sanger and Dumas next round.
