AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) - Tascosa High School baseball head coach Jason Patrick announced his retirement on Thursday morning to the media. Patrick has been on the coaching staff at Tascosa for 26 years and 24 of those years as the head coach.

“It’s been a long time, a quarter of a century is what the years add up to be, but it’s been amazing,” Coach Patrick said when asked about his time at Tascosa. “The friendships, the coaching staff, and just the journey from seeing it from the start when we took over to the end of my time. Tascosa baseball is always going to be here, and going to flourish. It has just been one memory after another. You can’t put it all into perspective. Seeing the kids grow and the friendships that you make is why you do it.”

Over the years, Patrick and his coaching staff have accumulated 310 wins. He has also made 16 playoff appearances and has seen the regional quarterfinals three times.

Patrick has had the privilege of watching multiple players sign to continue their baseball careers at the next level. He also got the chance to watch former Tascosa Rebel Tucker Davidson pitch game five of the World Series for the 2021 World Series Champions, the Atlanta Braves.

When asked about what is next, Patrick said that his next plans are not ready to be announced yet.
