MPD: Midland man shot by suspect in ski mask

MIDLAND, Texas (KOSA) - Midland police say a man was hospitalized after someone in a ski mask shot him with a shotgun early Wednesday morning.

According to police, at approximately 3:01 a.m. Wednesday, March 27, 2024, officers responded to a gunshot victim at Midland Memorial Hospital.

The victim stated that the suspect had had been forcefully knocking on the door to his residence in the 3000 block of North Midland Drive around 1:48 a.m.

“Upon opening the door, the victim was confronted by the suspect, who was wearing a ski mask and armed with a shotgun,” MPD reported. “The suspect then shot the victim in the right foot while the victim tried to retreat. Before the arrival of the officers, the suspect managed to escape from the scene. The victim received medical treatment and was discharged shortly after.”

There is no information to release about the suspect in this case. The investigation is currently ongoing.
