OPD: Man arrested after assaulting mother and stealing her vehicle
40-year-old Louis Hector Tavarez also led police of a chase before being arrested
ODESSA, Texas (KOSA) - Thursday afternoon at about 1:16pm, OPD responded to the 800 block of Roxanna in reference to a disturbance.
An investigation revealed that 40-year-old Louis Hector Tavarez assaulted his mother and stole her silver Dodge Journey.
An OPD officer located Tavarez in the stolen vehicle at 16th and Coronado, but Tavarez immediately took off in the vehicle.
OPD deployed stop sticks at 2nd and Belmont and it eventually stopped in front of the Odessa Police Department.
Based on the facts and circumstances presented during the investigation, Tavarez was arrested for Robbery “Felony 2″ and Evading in a Motor Vehicle “Felony 3″.
The vehicle was returned to the mother.
