FlipaClip Film Festival FlipaClip Film Festival

In an industry where creativity and innovation are essential, FlipaClip has already revolutionized animation with its user-friendly mobile platform, empowering millions of artists worldwide. The first edition of the FlipaClip Film Festival (FFF) aims to spotlight emerging talent and share their work with a global audience.

The Essence of the Festival

FFF introduces a groundbreaking concept to the world of animation. Participants are given original soundtracks with open-ended storylines and challenged to interpret and create short animated films approximately two minutes long. The festival presents four categories, each with a unique soundtrack: Comedy, Drama, Adventure, and Freestyle, which allows artists to come up with their own story.

Winners for each category will receive a cash prize of $1,000. An exclusive panel of highly renowned judges including Scott Morse (Turning Red, Cars, Brave, and Soul), Ernest Chan (Trolls, Dora the Explorer, Kung Fu Panda, Fairly OddParents), and Mauricio Ferrazza (Executive Producer, Chairperson at MDC School of Gaming & Animation) are in charge of selecting the winners.

FlipaClip Film Festival judges

FlipaClip invites everyone to join FFF. The competition begins July 3rd and submissions are due September 1st. Participation is completely free, ensuring that all aspiring animators as well as professional artists have the opportunity to be recognized by the animation community. All movies are expected to be primarily animated using FlipaClip. However, participants are encouraged to use additional software for editing or other production needs to bring their animation to life. For more information about the festival visit FFF’s site.

A Global Community of Storytellers

FlipaClip is more than just an animation tool; it’s a comprehensive creative platform that empowers artists to become a “one-man studio”. FlipaClip artists write scripts, design characters, draft storyboards, and even do voice acting. Consider the story of Yanis, a 17-year-old emerging talent from Strasbourg, France. He has created dozens of episodes for his series Wouky on his YouTube channel, amassing half a million subscribers and 65 million views.

Then there’s Alexia from Brooklyn, a 21-year-old multi-talented artist who balances her job in retail with creating an animated series on her iPad, dreaming of one day seeing her work on Netflix. These stories illustrate the type of new talent that FlipaClip Film Festival (FFF) aims to discover and showcase to millions of animation enthusiasts.
