We have one of the best healthcare systems in the world, and care for nearly 3 million Queenslanders every year in our hospitals, emergency departments and clinics.
We’re responsible for the overall management of public health in Queensland, with 16 hospital and health services (HHS) areas. These make up over 100 hospitals, community and mental health services, aged care services and health promotion programs.
Ten of our HHSs are located in regional, rural and remote parts of the state. So you can choose to work anywhere from a hospital on the coast to outback Queensland. You might also want to experience a different cultural setting and head up to Cape York and care for some of our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.

Meet Fox
Māori and Pacific Islander Hospital Liaison Officer in Logan Hospital
Fox is a proud Samoan raised in New Zealand who brings lived experience to his Māori and Pacific Islander Hospital Liaison Officer role. Fox’s role supports patients at Logan Hospital to ensure their cultural needs are met and they’re accessing relevant services, like interpreters.
‘My passion is being able to help our people who don't understand their healthcare rights.
I always check in to see if there's any cultural barriers that are stopping them from accessing medical care. And if there are barriers, what are they, and what can I do to minimise those barriers?’.
