Olivia Hancock

• Olivia is an editor at Byrdie and has been writing for Byrdie since 2019.
• She served as an Editorial Intern for Byrdie during the summers of 2019-2020.
• Her writing has also appeared on Hello Giggles, Atlanta Magazine, xoNecole, and 21Ninety, and other publications.  

Experience

Olivia fell in love with journalism as a young girl growing up in Connecticut, where she spent countless hours writing stories and flipping through magazines. She began gaining editorial experience during high school by writing for local lifestyle and entertainment publications. During the summer of 2019 and 2020, Olivia worked as an editorial intern for Byrdie—which confirmed her passion for beauty journalism. As a writer, her mission is to amplify diversity and representation in beauty. 

Olivia's writing has also appeared in Hello Giggles, Atlanta Magazine, xoNecole, and 21Ninety, Her Campus, and other publications. 

Education

Olivia graduated with a B.A. in Journalism from Georgia State University with a minor in African-American Studies.
