There's a reason we tend to go lighter with our hair in the summer, as blonde perfectly captures the carefree energy of the season. That's why shades like It Girl blonde (a hue reminiscent of Sienna Miller or Blake Lively's hair) are trending this season. It may explain why the Kardashians have been experimenting with lighter hair such as Kylie's platinum blonde moment or Kim's Marilyn Monroe cosplay. The latest celebrity to try on blonde for the summer is Emilia Clarke, who swapped her classic brunette shade for a honey blonde.

The British Grand Prix took place over the weekend, and Lewis Hamilton was crowned as this circuit's winner yesterday, July 8. For the occasion, the Game of Thrones actor wore a green strapless belted dress, and debuted her new, lighter hair color.

Crafted by hair colorist Nicola Clarke, who posted a closer look at the actress's new color on Instagram, Clarke's blonde boasts warm tones with lighter money pieces at the front and a swirl of golden shades throughout for a seamless blend. It was as though Clarke was a natural blonde, that's how fitting the color was. Hairstylist Earl Simms completed the look with a fresh bouncy blowout, with layers that framed her face and showed off her lighter blonde pieces at the front.

Clarke opted to style her new honey blonde with a statement red lip and a soft glam, courtesy of makeup artist Naoko Scintu. The 37-year-old looked radiant and sunkissed with a glowy complexion that was sculpted with a touch of bronzer, and fluttery black lashes.

If you've been thinking about it, let this be your sign to finally take the plunge and go blonde for summer. Whether you're opting for Daenerys Targaryen's platinum hue or a sun-kissed caramel shade like Clarke's, your perfect blonde shade is out there.
