This week, the Stranger Things actor appeared on the Happy Sad Confused podcast and recalled his hilarious first encounter with Taylor Swift.

Speaking with host Josh Horowitz, Joseph was asked to recall one of his most “cringe” moments.

He recounted, “I met Taylor Swift once, and I said, ‘You’re Taylor Swift.’ She was very funny. She said something nice about the show [Stranger Things], and I said, 'Oh, thanks... You’re Taylor Swift.' Meant as a compliment.”

He added, “It’s definitely a compliment, but I remember thinking, That was fucking stupid.”

In spite of how "cringe" he found it, Joseph clarified that Taylor found the entire thing hilarious.

“She was very good-humored about it,” he said, before jokingly adding that the pair are still on “great terms.”
