It seems like every week, some company releases a new streaming app. One of the newest contenders is Peacock, a free-to-use app that features both original and archived content from NBC.
If you own an Amazon Fire TV or an Amazon Firestick, you can download Peacock and start watching in just a few minutes.
How to get Peacock on an Amazon Fire TV or Firestick
There are two quick ways to find and download the Peacock app on a Fire TV, and which one you use will depend on what kind of remote you have.
Using 'Find'
First, you can search for Peacock using the "Find" menu.
1. Turn on your Amazon Fire TV and head to the home page.
2. Select Find from the toolbar near the top, then scroll down and pick Search.
3. Type in and search for "Peacock." You'll probably see it appear in the list of recommended searches, too.
4. When it appears under the Apps & Games header, select Peacock TV, and then Get.
Using voice controls
Secondly, if your Fire TV remote has a voice button — it'll be either a picture of a microphone or the Alexa logo at the top of your remote — you can use voice commands.
1. Press and hold the voice command button on your remote.
2. When you're prompted to speak, say "Peacock."
3. You'll be brought to a search results page. Find and select Peacock TV from the Apps & Games section, then select Get.
Once the app downloads, you'll be able to find it on your home page, and in the list of all your apps. When you open it for the first time, you'll be prompted to either sign into your existing Peacock account or make a new one.
