Brides Product Review Editorial Guidelines & Mission

Our Team

We’re a team of experienced writers and editors who scour the retail landscape (both online and off) to find the best-in-class products and services for your big day. In addition to being experts in our fields, we’re consumers, too, and we are driven to find and curate products and services that make your life easier. Our commerce editorial staff has decades of experience in the bridal market as well as across beauty, fashion, décor, and gift guides. We are tapped into a robust network of experts and are trained to spot trends before they hit the mass market. In this way, Brides readers have access to our network, too.

Whether we're testing the best places to buy lab-grown diamonds or reviewing the best mother-of-the-bride dresses, we prioritize journalistic integrity and factual accuracy to help Brides readers make informed purchase decisions with the utmost confidence.

It is our mission to help our users make the best purchase decisions—it’s that simple.

Our Testing Process

We curate product recommendations to help make your wedding as memorable as possible and are obsessively chasing the details to help everything go off without a hitch. Whether you're looking for the best shapewear to wear on your wedding day or the best facial tools to get your skin glowing the morning of, you can count on the results of our testing processes to help steer your purchasing.

To determine which products actually live up to their hype, we put each one through rigorous research and testing processes before we recommend it to you. We rate and review products in our New York City-based Lab facility and with our network of home testers, so you can rest assured that what we call the best in show has out-performed the rest.

Our Research Process

We exhaustively research a broad range of products and ultimately make a curated list of recommendations from writers with subject-matter expertise in every product category we cover. In addition to our expertise, we tap a network of bridal professionals, including wedding planners, photographers, and stylists for their expert insights. The product and service recommendations on Brides are purely editorial. Occasionally, brands and PR agencies will send us products for editorial consideration, but our thoughts and opinions are our own.

We do receive an affiliate commission on some, but not all, of the products that we recommend if you decide to click through to the retailer's site and make a purchase.

Updated Recommendations

After we publish an article, we don’t just forget about it. Our team is relentless when it comes to updating and keeping our existing recommendations fresh, accurate, and helpful. We have our finger on the pulse of trends so we can surface them to our readers. Our recommended products and services run the gamut from accessible to splurge-worthy, and we’re not loyal to any one specific retailer or brand. We make it a point to source recommendations from reliable companies who deliver exemplary customer service, so you can have a seamless shopping experience.

We also know how frustrating it can be to do your research on a product only to add it to your cart and see that it’s out of stock, so we try to mitigate this by having dedicated editors check availability daily to provide you with the best user experience possible.

News and Deals

If you live for a sale section, know that we strive to find the best price on all the odds and ends you'll need for your wedding, registry, honeymoon, and more. Our team of shopping experts is constantly scouring the internet for the latest product launches, price cuts, and restocks. We also work around the clock on shopping holidays like Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and Amazon Prime Day to ensure you make the most of the biggest sale days of the year.

Diversity and Inclusivity

We want everyone to see themselves represented on Brides. This means showcasing brands and services owned by BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) and other minority groups whenever possible and hiring more diverse writers and staff members to cover topics important to our audience. Safety

Please note that all products, including those we review and recommend, may from time to time be subject to recalls or revised use recommendations. We, therefore, urge you to monitor any official announcements here that may be related to the products you purchase.
