Tailored to the season and the flowers in bloom, each month we host guided tours of Bowood’s Private Walled Garden.
We also offer Head Gardener Tours, aimed at keen gardeners looking to expand their knowledge and understand how David and the small gardening team take care of the gardens here at Bowood. Please note these tours are very popular, so booking early is recommended to avoid disappointment.
Please note these tours must be pre-booked.
We offer a number of dates throughout the season to visit Bowood’s Private Walled Garden. All tours are tailored to suit the season and the flowers in bloom; from wonderful wisteria to the vibrant wall of roses.
Individuals can join a Private Walled Garden Tour.
Morning Tours including a one-course lunch – £38.50 per person
Afternoon Tours including a Cream Tea – £34.50 per person
Please note, these tours require around 90 minutes of walking with limited seating. The paths around the House and Grounds are gravel therefore wheelchairs and pushchairs may find it difficult, there is also steps leading down into the lower terrace.

This tour is aimed more towards keen gardeners looking to expand their knowledge and gain some insights into how we at Bowood deal with the many challenges our dedicated team of gardener’s face.
Head Gardener Tours, including a one-course lunch – £41.50 per person
Our Head Gardener David Glass will meet you at the House & Gardens admissions. Followed by a 90-minute guided tour of the Private Walled Garden, with detailed information on the history of the garden and what it takes to take care of the gardens and grounds at Bowood throughout the year. Following the tour, you are welcome to wander the gardens, grounds, and Bowood House at your leisure.

Join an exclusive guided tour of Bowood’s spectacular Woodland Gardens.
As you are led along the rides by your expert tour guide, each step opens a new vista of breathtaking beauty, from the minute detail of the individual flower to the grand sweep of colours formed by hundreds of shrubs.

Includes: Entrance to Woodland Gardens and a 90-minute guided tour, after the tour, you can enjoy a Tea or Coffee and a slice of cake from The Nosh Box. You are then welcome to wander the Woodland Gardens at your leisure until 17:30.

Please note our Garden Tours need to be booked in advance. They are non refundable and non changeable. Refunds will only be considered in exceptional circumstances and at the discretion of the management.
Bowood reserves the right to, at its absolute discretion, cancel workshops/courses/events/tours up to 7 days prior to the event if booking numbers do not reach a minimum level. In the event of such cancellations Bowood will offer customers the option to swap to another date in the same year (if spaces are available), or offer a full refund. For the avoidance of doubt, Bowood bears no liability for and would not refund any other indirect costs incurred by the customer, such as travel costs or accommodation.
