The Martha’s Vineyard man who’s accused of slashing four young girls in a Braintree movie theater and stabbing two McDonald’s workers at a Plymouth rest stop has been found dangerous.
Jared Ravizza, 26, was held without bail after a judge on Monday ruled that he’s dangerous following the alleged stabbing spree in Massachusetts. He also faces a murder charge in Connecticut.
Ravizza is charged with armed assault to murder, two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, and indecent exposure after officials say he stabbed a pair of employees at the Plymouth McDonald’s. He allegedly took off from the rest stop, leading police on a chase that ended in a crash and his arrest in Sandwich.
Also, Braintree Police charged Ravizza with four counts of assault to murder and four counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon in connection with his alleged attack on four girls ages 9 to 17 at an AMC movie theater.
After Ravizza was arrested in May, prosecutors moved for a dangerousness hearing, but Ravizza was sent for further evaluation for competency and criminal responsibility at Bridgewater State Hospital. Then at Monday’s dangerousness hearing, the judge found Ravizza dangerous and he was held without bail.
Police on May 25 at around 6:52 p.m., received several 911 calls for reports of the stabbing at the McDonald’s in the Route 3 rest area in Plymouth. Upon arrival, emergency medical personnel found a 21-year-old woman with a knife laceration, and she was transported to South Shore Hospital. Also, a 28-year-old man was transported to Beth Israel Deaconess-Plymouth Hospital for a laceration from a knife.
Investigators reviewed surveillance video from the McDonald’s restaurant that appears to show Ravizza allegedly reach through the drive-thru window, and stab the male victim with a large knife.
The video then shows Ravizza leave the drive-thru in a black Porsche, return to the McDonald’s on foot, and go behind the counter — which is when he allegedly stabbed the female victim. Ravizza then fled the rest area in his motor vehicle.
A witness at the McDonald’s reported the motor vehicle plate registration to Massachusetts State Police, and it was determined that the black 2018 Porsche Macan was registered to Ravizza. Police also learned that he was wanted for other incidents.
Ravizza is next scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 6.
