As Range Rover enters Grasso Garage, this week is all about class and luxury while still maintaining a decent price point. Enters the Evoque; Range Rovers version of entry level SUV utilization takes the Jaguar Land Rover brand to new heights as they open up their footprint to even more consumers.

The Range Rover Evoque is all about the numbers. Powered by a 2.0L turbocharged 4-cylinder gas engine, the 246 horsepower Evoque offers 269 lb-ft of torque and a 9-speed automatic transmission. All-wheel drive is standard, while we also notice an array of standard comfort, convenience, safety and security features. Optioned on our Range Rover Evoque was a Dynamic Handling package, Cold Climate package and Technology package which combined for just over $3,000. Heads-up display was the most utilized and very crisp for the driver.

Riding on 20-inch gloss dark gray and diamond contrast wheels, the Evoques exterior appearance is what makes this complete. Our Dynamic SE trimmed Evoque offered a contrast roof in Corinthian Bronze for an additional $600 which paired well with the Tribeca Blue exterior. The Meridian Surround Sound stereo was also an upgrade and performed well. In competition with our recently tested BMW X1 and Audi’s Q3, the comparison is similar in size and price, while exterior aesthetics is what jumps off the page. The Range Rover Evoque has an appealing look to it as similar to other Jaguar/Land Rover (JLR) products. When we tested the Jaguar F-Pace SVR, we noticed similar sightlines and similar specific attention to detail which really boosted the review of our test.

JLR deserves accolades in the design category as they have historically and currently manufactured excellent looking vehicles. The Evoque is no different and with it being priced so attractively, the consumer market has expanded greatly ensuring it really is a great bang for the buck. Being in the upscale SUV category and with a Range Rover name plate, confusion easily sets in as pricing is normally unattainable, but the Evoque is here to change that and offer new consumers to the brand which should payoff nicely for everyone.
