Entering Grasso’s Garage is the basic version of recently tested Buick Envista, the 2024 Chevrolet Trax Activ. Sharing the same frame and curvatures, the Chevrolet Trax brings a great base price and entry level SUV option to consumers while space and usage are just a few of the greats that the Trax brings to the table.

When manufacturers are selecting exterior paint colors, it’s all about adding different tints and metallic flakes to make the color either unique or even more appealing. But in Grasso’s Garage this week, the Chevrolet Trax Activ came wrapped in Cacti Green. Most easily one of the oddest colors we have witnessed as other manufacturers have seen profitable bottoms lines from recent releases of gray’s and greens. With Chevrolet clearly looking to gain some traction of their own, the Trax Activ offers 6 exterior colors, including Nitro Yellow and the re-release for Corvette enthusiasts, Marina Blue Metallic.

Powered by the popular EcoTech 1.2L Turbocharged 4-cylinder engine, the Trax has no problem getting up and going, while serving its driver nicely, smoothly and quietly. Paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission, the 2024 Chevrolet Trax is an overall great, inexpensive option for an array of consumers. Standard features on our Trax tester were front wheel drive, SiriusXM Radio, an 11 ” Color LCD display, keyless remote start and heated steering wheel. Upgraded options included a sunroof package and driver confidence package, which combined for $1,690. Model options for the Trax include LS, 1RS, LT, 2RS and Activ.

When Chevrolet entered Grasso’s Garage this year, it has been an overwhelming experience as their massive fleet of priced right and appealing vehicles really provide a wow factor. As Buick blew us away with their Envista and now the Trax providing a similar, more basic version, finding a bad thing to say is really difficult. But the Cacti Green is certainly something that takes some getting used to if you know what I mean, even with green being a color of choice in Grasso’s Garage.
