As the EV market continues to be released from manufacturers to consumers, BMW delivers a fun and realistic sedan ready for all families and drivers alike. As the Ultimate Driving Machine has thrived on upscale vehicles for years, consumers looking for the sedan feel with the SUV size, enjoy the Gran Coupe’s array of model options. This week in Grasso’s Garage, it’s the BMW i4 xDrive40 Gran Coupe, and impressive is an understatement.

Wrapped in what seems to be a metallic purple, called Mora Metallic in the BMW world, adds another great color to the fleet of the already exceptional exterior palette. Powered by dual all-electric motors with high-voltage lithium ion battery pack and brake energy recuperation system, the BMW i4 Gran Coupe xDrive40 gets 279 miles on a single charge and has tons of appeal. In typical EV fashion, getting up and going is no problem with endless, instant torque while the regenerative braking system works magic and does provide additional range when settings are properly set. Our week-long tester came with an array of standard features including Adaptive M Suspension, sport steering, acoustic protection and auto dimming rearview mirror. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, anthracite headliner and SiriusXM were also standard. Optioned up in our tester, included Premium Package, Parking Assistance, M-Sport Package, Shadowline package, Driving Assistance Pro Package adding $7,450 while the paint and interior leather upgrade totaled 6K. BMW Ultimate Care is included in the price as well, with Maintenance for the first 3 years or 36,000 miles. Warranty on the i4 Gran Coupe is standard like other BMW products with its 4 year/ 50,000 mile new vehicle limited warranty.

Keeping the Ultimate Driving Machine motto alive, the BMW i4 Gran Coupe is very impressive in that its price range is accurate for most consumers in this market and the exterior appeal really is an eye catcher. While BMW drivers can attest, there is nothing more comfortable to drivers than a BMW, the i4 confirms the Ultimate Driving Machine continues on in its legacy, while adding the EV consumers to the table for discussion and enjoyment.
