UPDATED:

Indomitable dancer and amputee-rights champion Adrianne Haslet, who lost part of her left leg in the 2013 Boston Marathon bombings, was hospitalized Saturday after she was hit by a car.

Haslet, 38, who overcame her trauma to return to dancing and conquer the internationally renowned race herself as a blade runner, posted a photo Sunday on Instagram from a hospital bed, wearing a neck brace.

She said she was hit by a car Saturday while in a crosswalk on Commonwealth Avenue.

“Thrown into the air and landed, crushing the left side of my body. Yesterday. I’m completely broken. More surgery to come,” the post states.

Boston Police spokesman Officer Stephen McNulty said the crash occurred at approximately 7:14 p.m. Saturday and that “dark and rain might have been contributing factors.”

McNulty said the driver, an adult male, remained on scene. He was cited for failure to stop for a pedestrian in a crosswalk.
