Lauren Booker is digital editor for the Boston Globe's Money, Power, Inequality team. The team covers the racial wealth gap in Greater Boston, along with solutions being proposed to bridge the gap. Lauren develops and executes the strategy for the vertical’s digital presence, which include the landing page, survey, newsletter, social media, and SEO. She also coordinates events that connect the MPI team with communities in Greater Boston. Lauren has worked in digital media for more than seven years. She previously was a digital producer for the Boston Globe’s homepage team. There she managed the award-winning newspaper’s digital footprint that encompasses the homepage, push alerts, emails, newsletters, and social media. She had a hand in directing coverage for major stories during her time in the role, including the coronavirus pandemic, the 2020 presidential election, and the war in Ukraine. She also led digital strategy for Globe projects, including Black News Hour. Prior to joining the Globe in 2020, she worked in digital media for various companies in Atlanta, including Public Broadcasting Atlanta, Cox Media Group, and CNN. She won a Georgia Association of Broadcasting award for Best Online Produced Story and the Atlanta Press Club’s Lifestyle Journalism Award of Excellence. She is a graduate of Georgia State University. During her time there, she worked at The Signal Independent Newspaper as a news reporter, news editor, and web managing editor. She received the College Journalist of the Year award from the Southeast Journalism Conference.
