For one night this summer, the Boston Red Sox are taking the stars off the field and putting “Star Wars” on the big screen in center field instead.

On Tuesday, July 2, Fenway Park will host a screening of “Star Wars: Episode IV — A New Hope,” presented by Alamo Drafthouse Cinema.

The screening, which will begin at 7:30 p.m., is the latest edition of Fenway Park Movie Night, which previously attracted thousands of attendees to the ballpark to watch family favorites like “Shrek” and “Hocus Pocus.”

Whether you’re a Lucasfilm veteran or a Star Wars rookie (or even a Star Wars Wookie), you’ll undoubtedly enjoy seeing Luke, Leia, and Han save the galaxy from the clutches of the Empire on the park’s massive video board. The screening will also be enhanced by a number of brief pyrotechnics from the Fenway grounds crew, including the moment the Death Star explodes.

Park gates will open at 6:15 p.m., at which point fans will begin to be seated in the lower seating bowl and along the first base line.

Leading up to the film, fans can visit the Gate A concourse, which will be redecorated as a desert spaceport featuring cosplayers, photo ops, and other activities. The first 7,000 fans in attendance will receive free lightsabers, and costumes that don’t cover the face are encouraged.

Tickets for Fenway Movie Night are $10 for adults, $5 for children 12 and under, and free for children ages 2 and under and Red Sox season ticket-holders.
